Reviews
Great place I had the wild burger and fries it was amazing. It’s a nice huge burger with grilled onions and it tastes great. The atmosphere was amazing and the food quality was amazing. I was in a group of three and my friends ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and my other friend ordered the taco salad both have reported that the food was amazing. The atmosphere has a nice Chicago feel to it. A lot of nice pictures and old memories of the business and how it started out as a business between brothers it’s in a very nice area with lots of foot traffic.
Gluten free fried chicken! If you want a fried chicken sandwich, I highly recommend putting coleslaw or extra mayo or something on the sandwich. Needs a bit extra liquid imo, but maybe that's because I don't usually have breaded anything with bread? Knowledgeable about gluten free, plenty of options. Want to try the mozzarella sticks, but the prices cause a rivalry between my stomach and brain.
UPDATE:
Tried the mozzarella sticks. They were huge and delicious. (There were 5 but we immediately started eating them before I took a picture). Gluten free BLT also pictured.
We had a burger and spinach salad and both were fantastic! It's a very casual and friendly vibe and wonderful wait staff. Definitely a very cool neighborhood bar/ restaurant.
If I lived closer I'd go all the time. I went with my friend who goes there quite a bit because she lives in the neighborhood.
Lovely patio seating. And the absolute best grilled cheese sandwich I’ve ever had in my liiiiiiiife! It’s great even without bacon, but with the bacon, it’s simply perfect. I dream about this sandwich.
Rockwell’s is such a hidden gem! Passersby may not immediately clock this bar/grill as having some of the best food and service in the area, but it does. The wait staff is so friendly, they have great outdoor seating, and the food is fantastic—both gluten-free and vegetarian friendly. I highly recommend the sirloin steak tacos!
Great dinner, with some fantastic food, I had gotten the special of the time a dr. Pepper braised pulled pork and some Cajun fries. These were eaten in mere moments by me because of how good they were. The waitstaff was extremely kind, and the general feel of the place was more akin to a bar, which is also present, so it is quite fitting.
* Over several visits, I'm fat but not like that*
Steak sandwich - tasty
Shrimp po boy - tasty
Mozzarella sticks - tasty
Chicken tender situations - pretty good
Egg rolls - interesting in a good way
Limeade - always a favorite
Had the macaroni once, it was late, probably not the best representation.
Televisions are present, but you'll only ever hear music from my experiences.
Ate here for the 2nd time.
First time: I loved it. Food was great, service was slow, but I always think good food takes time.
This 2nd time: the fries were small peices, looked unappetizing and likely reheated.
Burger was just ok, slightly uncooked.
If they wouldn't have served us those fries, I would have been OK, but I feel offended to be sent such a plate to the table.
Also, did not refill the water glass even once, even though my glass was empty.
Feel bad I did not take a picture of those fries, because they were smt "special".
